In the early hours of a late June morning in New Orleans, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the Holy Cross neighborhood. When police officers arrived at the intersection of Douglass and Delery streets around 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, they discovered a grim scene. Two men, later identified as 44-year-old Jesus Torres Ramirez and 48-year-old Jose Luis Torres Ramirez, were found fatally wounded.
