On May 8, 1978, the body of 15-year-old Vickie Lynn Brekke was discovered in the desert east of Sunrise Mountain, Las Vegas. She had been strangled to death after leaving her home the previous evening to visit a friend. Tragically, Vickie never made it to her friend's house, and her body was found the next day by a passerby.
