In the early hours of September 20, 2025, deputies were called to Chubby’s on Prairie Point Road in Noxubee County, near Macon, where they found 29-year-old Demetrius Prince, a man, dead at the scene. The call came just after 1:30 a.m., and the location was later documented as 9300 Prairie Point Road. The discovery set off an investigation that would quickly stretch across county lines.
