In the summer of 2025, a burst of violence on a Baltimore street cut short the life of Adam L. Brown Sr. A Black male, at 47 years of age, he was fatally shot on the evening of Sunday, June 8th. The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Round Road, where he was found and quickly transported to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, Brown succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
The investigation into the shooting moved swiftly, and within a day, authorities had a suspect in
custody. On the following Monday, police arrested 32-year-old Melvin Scott in connection with the homicide. The arrest was made during a traffic stop in the 800 block of Seagull Avenue.
Following his apprehension, Melvin Scott was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Adam Brown. While an arrest was made promptly, law enforcement officials did not immediately release a potential motive for the deadly shooting. The case against Scott is expected to proceed through the court system.
