In the early morning hours of a chaotic Sunday in Flint, Michigan, the life of 25-year-old William Joseph Smith was tragically cut short. On July 27, 2025, Smith was one of five people shot at a large gathering at the Van Club, located at the intersection of Industrial Drive and Pasadena Avenue. The festive atmosphere of the sizable get-together was shattered around 4:00 a.m. by the eruption of gunfire.
