On the night of July 4, 2025, a dispute in the 3500 block of Esther Place in Southeast Baltimore turned deadly, resulting in the shooting death of 38-year-old Aaron Hill. A Black male, Hill was found by police officers who responded to calls of gunfire at approximately 11:51 p.m. He was suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medics.
An investigation into the homicide was immediately launched by the Baltimore Police Department.
Just a few days later, on July 7, 2025, their investigation led to the arrest of a suspect. Thirty-six-year-old Davon Kelly of Rosedale, Maryland, was taken into custody in connection with Hill's death.
Following his arrest, Kelly was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. He has been charged with both first and second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Aaron Hill. The police have indicated that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the two men. Authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information regarding the incident to contact the Baltimore Police Department's Homicide detectives.
