Bryisha Pennington, 39, a female identified as Black / African American, was shot late on Monday, July 28, 2025, in Harvey, Louisiana. Deputies with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office responded around 11:30 p.m. to the 500 block of 3rd Street, where they found Bryisha Pennington, 39, and a man wounded in the street. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries, and authorities began treating the scene as an apparent murder-suicide.
