Gene Garrett Jr., 38, a Black man from Accokeek, Maryland, was found just after midnight on August 8, 2025, inside a residence on the 16000 block of Caribbean Way with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the shooting unfolded during an ongoing domestic dispute inside the home where the men lived, and that the confrontation ended in tragedy for Gene Garrett Jr., 38, male, whose life ended before help could reach him.
