Black/African American male Steven A. Lares, age 38, was killed late on Friday, June 13, 2025, on Chicago's West Side. Shortly before midnight, he sat in a car in the 100 block of North Laramie Avenue in the Austin neighborhood when someone walked up and opened fire, striking him in the head. He was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
