In the early morning hours of September 13, 2025, the life of Kenneth Spaulding, a 34-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. He was discovered inside a residence on the 3300 block of Spaulding Avenue in the Central Park Heights neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. First responders found that he had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sudden and violent nature of his death left his family, including his son, mother, brother, and
sister, utterly heartbroken and struggling to comprehend the loss. Described as a beloved son, brother, father, and friend whose presence brightened the lives of those who knew him, his absence created an irreplaceable void in his community. In the wake of his death, his family organized a fundraiser to cover funeral and memorial expenses, as well as to provide for his young son.
The Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit launched an investigation into the killing. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. In an effort to generate leads, authorities released surveillance footage showing a person of interest. The video captured a man dressed in dark clothing walking near a black SUV in the vicinity of the shooting. Detectives have urged the public to come forward with any information that might help identify the individual in the video or shed light on the circumstances that led to Spaulding's death. The investigation remains ongoing as his loved ones continue to seek justice.
