In the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, August 31, 2025, the life of 31-year-old Jimiah Lambert, a Black male, was tragically cut short by gun violence in New Orleans. The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Downman Road in the Pines Village area of New Orleans East. When officers arrived at the scene following reports of gunfire, they discovered Lambert on the pavement with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
