In the late hours of a summer night in Shreveport, Louisiana, tragedy struck a family and a community. On August 31, 2025, 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine, a male, was fatally shot in the Martin Luther King neighborhood. The incident, which marked the 25th homicide in the city that year, unfolded shortly after midnight on Bond Drive. Ballentine was at a friend's house when he was struck by multiple gunshots.
