On June 29, 2025, 21-year-old Tirom Kirksey Jr., a male from Aurora, was shot inside an apartment in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue. Officers were called at about 5:56 p.m. and found Tirom Kirksey Jr. critically wounded; he was taken to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:39 p.m. The Kane County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on June 30 and formally identified him as Tirom Kirksey Jr. of Aurora.
