On Sunday, April 9, 2023, a fatal shooting occurred in Aurora, Illinois, resulting in the death of 24-year-old Myles Buie. The incident took place in the 400 block of West New York Street, near Chestnut, where Aurora police responded to multiple calls about a shooting just before 10:00 p.m..
Upon arrival, officers found Myles Buie seated inside a parked vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was immediately transported to a local hospital by Aurora Fire Department paramedics, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Aurora Police Department’s Bureau of Investigations and Evidence Technicians are conducting an ongoing investigation into the homicide. As of the latest reports, no one is in custody related to the shooting.

Myles Buie was described by his family as a hard worker, a great father, and someone with a big heart who loved spending time with his family and friends. A GoFundMe campaign was set up by his family to help organize a memorial for him, which quickly accumulated over $2,700 in donations.
