Death by Force

Jaray Washington, 27, male, Black/African American, died after being shot on the evening of September 13, 2025, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Police said officers were dispatched at about 7:43 p.m. to 4643 Sycamore Street after a report of a man shot; emergency responders took Jaray Washington to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigators learned that Jaray Washington had stepped in to break up an argument when the gunfire erupted.
