Jerome Burley, 25, a male from Augusta, was found with at least one gunshot wound on the morning of June 2, 2025, at The Landings at 237 apartment complex on Wrightsboro Road, formerly known as Fox Trace Apartments. Deputies responded around 8:54 a.m., and he was taken to Doctors Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:26 a.m., according to the Richmond County coroner and sheriff’s office. An autopsy was scheduled as investigators began piecing together what happened at the complex.
