The morning of Tuesday, June 3, 2025, began like any other, but a grim discovery shattered the peace of their home on Altamaha School Road. At approximately 8:15 a.m., Jessica's husband found her deceased and immediately called for help. The Appling County Sheriff's Office responded to the distressing 911 call and, upon assessing the scene, requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to delve into the circumstances of her untimely death.
The investigation quickly pointed to a suspect within the family circle. Preliminary findings indicated that Jessica had been shot and killed. The suspect was identified as her 25-year-old stepson, Randall Peacock, Jr. It is alleged that after the fatal shooting, he stole her vehicle and fled the scene. A search for Randall was initiated, and later that same day, he was located in Swainsboro, Georgia. Law enforcement, with the assistance of the Swainsboro Police Department and the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office, apprehended him without incident.
Randall Peacock, Jr. was taken into custody and is being held in the Appling County Jail.
