Malika Shanae’ Harris, a 26-year-old African American woman from Baxley, GA, tragically lost her life on August 25, 2022. She was found with apparent gunshot wounds alongside Oneida Hawkins, 45, who was also injured but survived and was transported to Memorial Hospital in Savannah for treatment. Malika was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred at a home on Pine Street in Baxley, where officers responded following a 911 call made by a relative of the suspect.
