On the morning of July 5, 2025, Darrin O. Carter, 46, a male, was seated in a vehicle on the 800 block of North Cambridge Avenue on Chicago’s Near North Side when gunfire tore through the quiet stretch of street. Shots struck Darrin O. Carter, 46, in the back; the shooter sped off in a dark-colored car as police converged on the scene.
