Evelie LaCroix, a 48 year old Black female from Plainfield, Indiana, was found fatally shot on the afternoon of June 27, 2025, after officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2000 block of Creekhollow Road near the Perry Crossing area. First responders located one person deceased at the scene and took a person of interest into custody, while assuring the public there was no ongoing threat.
