In the vast, unforgiving desert landscape on the outskirts of Las Vegas, the discovery of a young man's body shattered the autumn calm. On October 29, 1999, individuals enjoying a day of four-wheeling about a mile north of Lake Mead Boulevard stumbled upon a grim scene. There, they found the deceased body of 33-year-old Jeffrey Neslund, a Caucasian male known to his friends as "Nes".
