In the summer of 2025, the life of a young man from Metter, Georgia, was tragically cut short, sending ripples through the community. Quincy London Hall, a 25-year-old male, was killed on Friday, July 11, 2025. The incident that claimed his life unfolded around 3:00 in the afternoon at the corner of MLK Boulevard and East Lee Street in Metter. Reports of shots fired in that area brought Metter police to the scene, where they, along with Candler County deputies and investigators, secured the area. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was subsequently called in to assist with the case.
Quincy, born on May 10, 2000, in Marietta, Georgia, was remembered for his playful and outgoing personality, and a generous smile. He had strong ties to the Metter community, where he spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and riding ATVs. He was a graduate of the Welding and Joining Technology Program at Ogeechee Technical College and worked with his grandfather in the funeral service business. An active member of the First Mt. Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, his death left a void in the lives of his family and friends.
The investigation into Quincy Hall's death quickly identified two suspects. The Metter Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation launched a search for Alfonzo Deondre Tippins and Is'Real Kiven-Nicholas Saunders in connection with the fatal shooting. Their efforts led to the capture of Saunders on Monday, July 22, 2025, in Bibb County. He was arrested on a warrant for murder and was slated to be transported back to Candler County to face the charges. Shortly thereafter, it was reported that both suspects were in custody. Tippins also had a warrant for his arrest in the same incident, and at one point remained at large after Saunders' capture. Both men were ultimately apprehended in connection with the shooting death of Quincy Hall.
