Efrain Sanchez, 48, a male, Black/African American resident of Chicago, was shot on Labor Day, September 1, 2025, in the Little Village section of South Lawndale. According to police cited in local reporting, he was standing outside in the 2600 block of South Kolin Avenue around 11 a.m. when a man approached and opened fire, striking him multiple times. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died about an hour later.
