Melissa King, 56, a Black/African American woman from Conyers, Georgia, was found dead on Sunday, July 27, 2025, after deputies responded to a “person shot” call around 1:20 p.m. at a home in the 600 block of Clubland Circle SE. When Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived, they discovered two people—identified as Melissa King, 56, and Kevin James, 59—both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene.
