Death by Force

Judy Sheffler, 75, a resident of Shelburn in rural Sullivan County, Indiana, was found dead from gunshot wounds in her home in the early hours of Monday, September 22, 2025. Deputies responded to a 911 call around 4 a.m.; when no one answered the door, they entered the residence and discovered two people deceased. Indiana State Police detectives were asked by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office to take the lead on the case, which they immediately opened as a death investigation.
