Detectives closed the boat ramp area and stretches of North River Road for several hours to collect and process evidence before reopening the area early that afternoon. The sheriff's office said there was no known ongoing threat to the public and asked anyone with information to contact dispatch or submit an anonymous tip to East Idaho Crime Stoppers, signaling an active homicide investigation still building its timeline and leads. A month later, on July 22, 2025, attention shifted to 30-year-old Jarrod Thomas Sisneros, who was arrested near Big Timber, Montana. According to authorities, Sisneros was wanted on two felony warrants and was the subject of an “attempt to locate” connected to the June 23 Idaho Falls homicide. He fled from Sweet Grass County deputies until his SUV broke down; he then ran on foot before being Tased and taken into custody. Officials described him as a person of interest whom investigators “have questions for,” noting he was being held without bond in the Gallatin County Detention Center pending extradition to Idaho. As of those reports, he had not been publicly identified as an official homicide suspect, and investigators continued to seek information.
