In the late summer of 2025, the life of 25-year-old Nytavious 'Tae' Stone was tragically cut short in Milledgeville, Georgia. On a Saturday evening in August, Stone, a shift manager at a local Buffalo Wild Wings, was involved in an altercation with a co-worker in the restaurant's parking lot. The dispute quickly escalated from a verbal argument to a physical fight. The co-worker's twin brother, who had dropped him off at work, returned to the scene as the confrontation unfolded.
In the ensuing chaos, gunshots rang out, and Stone was struck multiple times. Emergency services rushed him to Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at 6:34 p.m.
The investigation into Stone's death led to the swift identification and arrest of two suspects: 25-year-old twin brothers, William Shannon Brown and Micha Shannon Brown. William, who was Stone's co-worker, was charged with aggravated assault. Micha faced more severe charges, including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The incident, which took place entirely outside the restaurant, stemmed from the initial argument between Stone and William Brown.
The legal proceedings took a significant turn in March 2026 when a grand jury declined to indict Micha Brown on murder charges. The District Attorney stated that investigators were unable to determine who fired the first shot during the exchange of gunfire between Stone and Micha Brown. According to the investigation, after being assaulted by William Brown, Stone retrieved a gun from his car and was heard making threats before approaching Micha Brown, who was in his vehicle. While Micha Brown was not indicted for murder, William Brown was subsequently imprisoned for violating his probation in connection to the assault.
