Frank Harwood, a 42-year-old White male from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, tragically lost his life on June 29, 2025, in a horrifying ambush. A respected Battalion Chief for Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, Harwood was a 17-year veteran of the department, known for his leadership and dedication. He was also a former combat engineer with the Army National Guard. His life was cut short while responding to what was reported as a brush fire on Canfield Mountain, a call that turned out to be a deadly trap.
