Reginald L. Booth, a 39-year-old Black/African American man, was shot multiple times on the night of July 29, 2025, on the 1200 block of 9th Avenue South in St. Petersburg. Officers were called at 9:07 p.m. and found him gravely wounded; he was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront, where he died from his injuries. The police identified him shortly after and opened a homicide investigation centered on the stretch of Ninth Avenue South several blocks from Tropicana Field.
