Delvin Jaquez Ford, a 27-year-old man, was fatally shot in the early hours of February 9, 2025, outside a club in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The incident occurred at approximately 3:19 a.m. at 901 9th Avenue South, where a fight broke out inside the club and escalated into the parking lot. Several shots were fired during the altercation. Ford was attempting to leave the scene in his vehicle when he was struck by gunfire, causing him to crash into a pole.
He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
A second victim, a 26-year-old woman, was also injured in the shooting, sustaining a gunshot wound to her leg. She was reported to be in stable condition following the incident.
Ford had a notable legal history, as court records indicate that he was previously acquitted of second-degree murder in connection with a deputy-involved shooting in January 2020. In that case, Ford was charged with multiple offenses, including attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer and felonious possession of a firearm. However, he was found not guilty of the most serious charges.
As of now, authorities have not released any information regarding arrests or suspects in connection with Ford’s death. The investigation remains active, and law enforcement officials are urging anyone with relevant information to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department.
