On a Saturday evening in Brunswick, Georgia, the life of 14-year-old Dazariah Easton was tragically cut short. The young female was inside a residence on Altama Avenue on August 30, 2025, when a firearm was discharged, leading to her untimely death. The incident was not an act of random violence but rather a grim consequence of a reported mishandling of a gun by an acquaintance.
Responding to a call shortly after 8 p.m., officers from the Brunswick Police Department arrived at the scene to find Dazariah with a fatal gunshot wound. The investigation that followed pointed to 17-year-old Daquarius Wallace as the individual who was allegedly mishandling the firearm when it discharged, striking and killing Easton.
In the wake of the shooting, two arrests were made. Daquarius Wallace was taken into custody and faced a series of grave charges, including second-degree murder, cruelty to children, possession of a firearm by a person under 18, and reckless conduct. A second individual, 21-year-old Bobby Sullivan, was also arrested in connection with the incident. The charges brought against Sullivan included cruelty to children, theft by receiving stolen property, reckless conduct, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Following their arrests, both Wallace and Sullivan were booked into the Glynn County Jail. The community was left to mourn the loss of a young life, while the legal process against the two suspects began to unfold.
