Stephen John Jones, 56, a white male, was shot in Silver Springs, Florida, on the evening of Saturday, August 2, 2025. Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 6:40 p.m. to the 13800 block of NE 54th Place, where they found Stephen John Jones, 56, male, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue. Reporters later identified him by name and age after the sheriff’s office updated its initial release.
