Kevin Dominique, 23, a Black male, was found dead on the morning of August 19, 2025, beside a canal near the intersection of Ocean Waterway Boulevard and Old Griffin Road in Dania Beach, Broward County. Deputies with the Broward Sheriff's Office responded shortly after 8 a.m. and identified the victim at the scene; investigators determined he had been shot multiple times. An obituary later noted his death occurred in Dania Beach, confirming the location of the killing.
Detectives from BSO's Homicide and Crime Scene units canvassed the area and quickly focused on a family member. Within hours, they identified a suspect: Dominique's 15-year-old brother, Demetre Fleurimond. According to authorities, the teen admitted late that Tuesday night to shooting his brother and disposing of the body along the canal bank.
In subsequent filings and reports, officials said Fleurimond would be charged as an adult with first-degree murder with a firearm. Local coverage and court records described how he was transferred to adult court and held at the Paul Rein Detention Facility as the case progressed.
Reporting also detailed an alleged family conflict preceding the shooting. Law & Crime, citing investigative information and statements attributed to the mother, said the teenager was angry over being told to clean kitchen tiles, a dispute that escalated into gunfire and the dumping of his brother's body near the canal. As of those reports, Fleurimond remained in custody on the murder charge.
