On August 22, 2025, in Grass Valley, California, Sarah Regina Sanders, 58, a female, was found with major injuries after deputies responded to a disturbance at a home on Glen Meadow Drive. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from gunshot wounds.

Investigators identified the shooter as her 18-year-old son, Leo Thomas Sanders. Soon after the attack, deputies located him riding a motorcycle and a short pursuit followed. The suspect ultimately died by suicide, ending the ...
