Joseph Bojorquez Jr., 22, a mixed-race male, was shot late on the night of September 10, 2025, in the parking lot off the 5000 block of Newport Avenue in San Diego’s Ocean Beach neighborhood, steps from the Hodad’s restaurant. Police say officers arrived around 11:29 p.m. to find him suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body; lifesaving efforts at the scene were unsuccessful. He was identified days later, with authorities noting he was from San Diego.
