On a summer day in Colorado Springs, the life of 45-year-old Tanya Burnside was tragically cut short in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide. On August 10, 2025, at approximately 2:18 PM, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a call about a shooting in the 4100 block of Sod House Trail. Upon their arrival, they discovered the bodies of Ms.
Burnside and a man, both having sustained at least one gunshot wound.
The following day, the El Paso County Coroner's Office formally identified the deceased individuals as Tanya Burnside and 42-year-old Bryce Tallent. While the official cause and manner of death are pending the coroner's final determination, authorities have stated that Ms. Burnside's death is being investigated as a homicide. Mr. Tallent's death is being investigated as a suicide. Investigators have indicated that all parties involved have been accounted for and that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
Tanya Burnside was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend, remembered for her bubbly spirit and quick wit that brought laughter to those around her.
