On a Monday morning in Tempe, Arizona, 51-year-old John Lucas, a male Lyft driver, began his workday, picking up two passengers for a ride to the nearby town of Guadalupe. The trip took a tragic turn on September 22, 2025, when he was shot and killed by one of his passengers in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery of his vehicle.
