On a Thursday morning in Tuskegee, Alabama, the life of Quandaries Pollard, a Black / African American male, was cut short by gunfire. The shooting occurred on September 11, 2025, in the 2900 block of Pruitt Court around 9:54 A.M. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found Pollard, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Tuskegee Police Department initiated an investigation into the homicide.
Within a remarkably short period, investigators were able to identify a suspect. Within two hours of the shooting, officers located and arrested Kareem Washington, also a resident of Tuskegee. Further investigation revealed that Pollard and Washington were acquaintances, though the motive for the shooting was not immediately released.
Following his arrest, Kareem Washington was transported to the Pike County Detention Facility. He has been charged with murder, possession of marijuana in the second degree, and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of Quandaries Pollard. Funeral services for Pollard were scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee, with interment to follow at the Mt. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The investigation into the incident was reported to be ongoing.
