In a tragic turn of events, Ronald Martin Minor, a 72-year-old male from Jasper, Alabama, lost his life in a violent encounter on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. The incident, which unfolded at a residence on Devon Drive, also left his wife, Carol Minor, age 70, with serious injuries.
Authorities responding to the scene discovered Ronald Minor deceased, having been fatally shot. His wife, despite being shot in the head, managed to escape the home and call for help.
She was subsequently hospitalized in serious but stable condition. The couple, though still married, had been living separately at the time of the incident.
The investigation quickly centered on Nathaniel Barry Anderson, 42, who was identified as Ronald Minor's stepson. It was reported that Anderson had been residing in the home with his mother. Following the shooting, Anderson fled the scene and was observed running into a wooded area, prompting a significant law enforcement response that included the lockdown of several schools in Walker County as a precautionary measure.
Anderson was later apprehended and charged with the murder of his stepfather. The motive for the fatal altercation remains under investigation by the Jasper Police Department.
