In the quiet town of Menomonie, Wisconsin, a tragic event unfolded in late March of 1987, forever altering the community. Timothy Hayden, a 27-year-old White male who worked as a maintenance worker at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, became the victim of a brutal and senseless act of violence. His life was cut short when a man he considered an acquaintance, Alvin Taylor, turned on him in his own home.
