On April 16, 1992, 21-year-old Hispanic female Maria del Carmen Estrada was walking to work in Houston, Texas, when she encountered Anthony Allen Shore. Shore, a former telephone repairman and wrecker driver, offered her a ride. According to his later confession, he made unwanted sexual advances toward Maria del Carmen Estrada, which she resisted.
