William “Tom” Grissom, a 55-year-old white male, was found murdered in his home in Shreveport, Louisiana, on November 4, 1989. Grissom, a divorced AT&T supervisor nearing retirement, had been battling throat cancer but was reportedly in improving health. He lived in the Southern Hills neighborhood and was described by those who knew him as polite and respectable. On the evening of his death, he had been grilling steaks in his backyard.
