On a summer afternoon in July 1977, 18-year-old Audrey Lyn Nerenberg, a Caucasian female, walked out of her family's home in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn, New York, to buy a pack of cigarettes from a store just two blocks away. She assured her mother she would be back shortly, carrying only a small brown shoulder bag with two dollars in it. Audrey never returned, vanishing in a case that has since become a suspected homicide.
