In the spring of 1981, the quiet community of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, was rocked by a brutal and shocking crime. Pamela Sue Barker, a white female, was found dead in April of that year. At the time, she had been living under the alias Michelle Lynn Pearson, a name adopted as part of the federal witness protection program. Her life, and that of her common-law husband, Marion Albert Pruett, was supposed to be a new beginning, shielded from a past that had led them to seek government protection. ...
