In the winter of 1984, a chilling series of events unfolded in the Tidewater region of Virginia, leaving a community gripped by fear. Among the victims of this terrifying spree was Carolyn Elizabeth Joyner Hedrick, a 44-year-old Caucasian woman. A resident of Hampton and a candy saleswoman by profession, her life was brutally cut short on February 2, 1984, in Newport News.
