Destenie Alexandria Mendez, a 28-year-old woman from Dallas, Texas, tragically lost her life on January 1, 2025. She was the property manager of an apartment complex and was responding to complaints about a group of individuals drinking and playing loud music in the parking lot. Her husband, Kevin Violante-Varela, was with her at the time. When Mendez approached the group to ask them to leave, they refused.
