On January 3, 2025, 27-year-old Hispanic male Frank Vallejo Jr. was fatally shot during a domestic dispute at an apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the 8300 block of Potranco Road on the city's West Side. According to the San Antonio Police Department an argument escalated between Vallejo, his girlfriend, and her ex-boyfriend, 24-year-old George Amaro, who is the father of the woman's 6-year-old child.
Amaro allegedly produced a firearm during the confrontation and shot Vallejo multiple times in a breezeway of the complex. Vallejo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, Amaro fled the scene with his 6-year-old daughter. Authorities located him shortly afterward in another apartment within the same complex, where he surrendered without incident. The child was found unharmed. Amaro was arrested and charged with murder, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $470,000.
Friends and family remembered Frank Vallejo Jr. as a devoted father and a kind-hearted individual. Maribel Carrizales, a close friend, described him as "an amazing dad" who was always there for his daughter and constantly trying to provide for her. She emphasized that "he was just a great, honorable man" and that "nobody can ever amount to that."
