On May 11, 2009, Benjamin Almand, age 72, was found dead in his San Antonio, Texas residence. According to reports, Almand had suffered a violent attack inside his home. The authorities responded after neighbors noticed unusual inactivity and requested a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Almand had sustained multiple blunt force injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
