On January 14, 2025, Heidy Montalvo, a 23-year-old Hispanic woman from Laredo, Texas, was found dead alongside another individual in what authorities determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Barrios Street, where law enforcement discovered both victims with fatal gunshot wounds to the head. The other deceased individual was identified as 49-year-old Louis Margarito Rendon III.
