Friends and family of Alisha Parker expressed shock and grief over the incident, struggling to comprehend why her own brother would commit such an act. One of her closest friends, Crystal Beasley, described Alisha as a kind-hearted individual who had worked hard to turn her life around. Beasley recalled their deep friendship, despite their differing religious beliefs, and expressed disbelief that Dawud would harm his sister.
